Setting Location - Castle Pre-school, Out of School Club and Holiday Club

location.jpgCastle Nursery and Out of School Club are established within the historic town of Kenilworth, in the beautiful countryside of Warwickshire. We are set with the grounds of St Nicholas Primary School and enjoy excellent relationships with the school community. Our Nursery teachers work closely with the Reception teachers to provide excellent quality of education at the Foundation Stage. We arrange shared events such as our teddy bear’s picnic to give children going on to St Nicholas Primary School the opportunity to meet their future teachers and feel comfortable in the school environment.  At the same time we also enjoy excellent relationships with other reception teachers from the local area, who come and visit our setting in the summer term for those children not going on to St Nicholas School.

This privileged location gives us scope to enjoy lots of outdoor space. We have an outdoor classroom with undercover space which can be used in all weathers; a garden where children plant,  grow and dig, a safety surface for building and den making, as well as a big enclosed playground in the school grounds with many ride on toys, a fabulous log cabin and climbing equipment.

At Castle Nursery we celebrate being a part of the wider community. We are lucky enough to have lots of visitors who come and share their experiences with us. These have included…

Exploring the Wonderful natural environment of Kenilworth

The Preschool group also enjoy exploring their local natural environment in the ‘Explorer Friday Club’. During this session highly experienced nursery teachers take small groups of children typically to the Kenilworth Common, Crackley Woods, Ryton Pools, Hatton Country World or any other relevant places of interest suitable for exciting expeditions. The children learn about their environment through games and activities. Through foraging, creating and exploring, the children learn so much about the world we live in. This brings a wealth of benefits for the children, both physical, educational and emotional. By working together, the children gain confidence in their own abilities through the challenges they meet with close adult support.

NB: Children are only involved in trips with the consent of their parents/ careers. We only take children out of the setting when they are aged three years old or above and only when parents feel completely comfortable with us doing so.
